How to add a note to a matter

The Notes tab displays notes entered on the Matter. Notes can be used to document important information and keep everyone at the firm up to date with new developments on the Matter.

To add a note to a matter:

1.Click on Add New on the top right-hand corner of the pop-up screen to add a note.

2. Click on Add Note in order to add a note. Dendri will show the Note screen.

  1. Enter the Title of the note. This is a mandatory item, but you can change it to whatever you want.

  2. Enter the Start Date.

  3. Enter the Due Date.

  4. Enter the Description of the note. The Description box is a barebones WYSIWYG Text Editor. It is similar to your word processor (like MS Word) but has limited capabilities. There's a toolbar at the top that allows you to format the text as you type (or later). 

  5. Click on Add Label to give a new label to the note or pick from the existing labels.

  6. Select the Note Type. You can either select from the drop-down list. Otherwise, if it’s a new note type, learn how to quickly customize note types on Dendri so they can show up on the dropdown list.

  7. Specify the Primary User of this note

  8. In the case where additional members need to use this note, use the Assign Users tab to specify these users.

  9. In the case where a dedicated team needs to use the note, use the Assigned Teams tab to specify this team.

  10. The Assigned Matter tab is by default the matter from which you created the note, but if you’re in the middle of creating the note and don’t want to close the tab and repeat again, just pick the appropriate matter from the dropdown menu.
